MANUSCRIPT SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

Article title

The title should be written in capital letters, Times New Roman, 14-point font, bold, and centred.

Author(s) of the article

The first name(s) and surname(s) of the author(s) should be aligned to the right, one line below the title, preceded by their academic rank and academic title (if applicable), in Times New Roman, 12-point font. Surnames should be in capital letters and bold. The name shall be followed by footnotes indicating the main institutional affiliation (for each author separately, where applicable) and the email address, written in Times New Roman, 9-point font, bold and italic.

Article abstract – the abstract itself

The abstract shall be 150–200 words long and shall be written in Romanian, in Times New Roman, 12-point font, italicised, justified, and placed two lines below the author’s name. The abstract shall include: the objectives of the study, the research methods used, the results and the implications of the study.

Main body of the article

The text of the article must be written in Romanian. The text must be written in Times New Roman, 12-point font, justified; the introduction must be spaced three lines below the abstract. The ‘Normal’ style must be selected in the formatting options, with numbering using Arabic numerals and paragraph spacing set to (0) before and after. The paper must not exceed 15 standard pages. It must be structured into sections, each with a title. The introductory section must include an identification of the research problem, its novelty in relation to existing theoretical approaches, the research structure, a detailed description of the research methods used, and the proposed solutions. At the end of the paper, a section of conclusions shall be included, setting out the research findings and how they may be utilised.

Footnotes

Footnotes must be written in Times New Roman, size 9, justified and single-spaced. Footnotes must be numbered consecutively throughout the entire paper and not restarted on each page. All cited works must be referenced solely in the footnotes. For cited works, the full name of the author or authors of the cited bibliographic material must be given, followed by the title of the work (book, article), the publisher/journal, the city, the year of publication/journal issue number, and the page number(s).

The names of publishers, as well as those of books and journals, must be written in full, not abbreviated. The titles of books and articles should be set in italics, in the language in which they were published. The names of journals should be placed in quotation marks. If articles, reports or official documents available online are used, they should be cited in accordance with the above rules, stating that ‘the document is available online at…’ and indicating the date of last access. In the case of case law, the title of the decision, the number and date of the ruling/issuance, the issuing authority (court), and the place of publication (Official Gazette, collection/bulletin of judicial practice, etc.) must be stated.

Bibliography

The reference works used shall be listed in a brief bibliography at the end of the article, in the language in which they were published, using Times New Roman 10 font, single-spaced

Page layout

Pages shall be in A4 portrait format, with margins of 2 cm at the top, bottom, left and right. Pages shall be numbered consecutively with Arabic numerals, from the first to the last page.

Tables, figures and graphs shall be numbered and each shall have a descriptive title. Tables shall have a single border; the text within them shall be set in Times New Roman, size 10 pt, and the table number and title shall appear immediately above the table, aligned to the right-hand side (see Table 1)

Figures and graphs shall be framed by a single border, and their number and title shall appear immediately below them, right-aligned

Mathematical formulae shall be centred on the page and numbered as shown in the following example:

Abbreviations and acronyms must be explained the first time they appear in the text of the article.

Evaluation of submitted papers

Submitted papers will be evaluated using the ‘double-blind’ peer review system, in accordance with international conference standards. Any paper submitted for presentation at the Conference will be assessed by at least two scientific reviewers with a recognised national and international reputation in the fields of military, legal or naval sciences.

The evaluation will be conducted anonymously (the author’s name is not disclosed to the reviewers; the reviewers’ names are not disclosed to the author). Authors will be informed of the reviewers’ recommendations and observations with a view to improving the quality of the paper. At the reviewers’ recommendation, the paper may be refused for presentation at the Conference.

Authors bear sole responsibility for the content of their articles

By submitting the paper, the author(s) guarantee that the manuscript contains their own original work. Furthermore, the authors guarantee that any ideas and passages in the manuscript that are not their own have been properly attributed, through appropriate bibliographical references and the use of quotation marks. Full responsibility lies with the author(s) of the article in the event of a breach of copyright law or plagiarism; the Conference organisers cannot accept any liability for the authors’ failure to comply with the provisions of copyright law or for acts of plagiarism. Should any breach of copyright law or instances of plagiarism be discovered, the manuscript will be rejected. The conference organisers accept no responsibility for the views expressed by authors in their submitted papers. It is the authors’ responsibility to obtain reproduction and copyright permissions for any texts cited or reproduced in their papers.
